Happy Thursday folks!
Here is my favorite passage of the week, two quotes and book of the week with two important lessons to ponder on:
Passage of the Week:
Author Ryan Holiday on the power of silence:

From Discipline is Destiny by Ryan Holiday
Two Quotes:
“True education should question assumptions, challenge dogma, and inspire curiosity, not enforce blind memorization or mediocrity.”
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
Book of the Week with 2 Important Lessons:
The book of the week is Speech Therapy by Kyle Creek.

Raw, honest and refreshing read. Kyle is a gifted writer and the book is very engaging right from the first page. The essays are very relatable – to uplift you, keep you entertained and occasionally chuckling by the end. We all deal with bad days and hard times that leave us feeling frustrated, angry, and defeated. The Captain is the funny and wise friend we need most in times like these: someone who tells it like it is and gives us the tough love we need to get back up and meet our challenges head-on.
No matter the issue, you’ll find sage advice and insightful commentary to help you survive and overcome an ordeal before it ruins your mood, your day, or years of your life. With humor that both cuts and heals, this wise collection of life lessons is the relatable literary therapy we all need from time to time.
Here are two important lessons from the book:
1) How are you going to turn your shit around and stop letting yourself down?
The key to getting any piece of your life back on track or perhaps on a track that it’s never been on before is not finding the motivation to do so; it is developing the discipline that will make it happen. Discipline is the glue to not only make sure your to-dos actually get done, but it’s also a way to cultivate the accountability to hold yourself to them. When the right choices become habits, you can pull yourself out of pretty much any rut. You can recover a sinking career, you can strengthen a broken relationship, and you can completely change your physical appearance.
Don’t just promise yourself that you’ll do your best but promise yourself that you’ll do it until you get your desired results. Engage in change with the intention and determination to reach your chosen destination with no other option.
2) You don’t need people to believe in you if you believe in yourself.
You don’t need people to believe in you if you believe in yourself. Of course it’s easier, more fun, and even more rewarding to have a team working toward a common goal, but if you want something bad enough, you and you alone can find a way to make your dreams a reality. And the first step toward making that happen is removing the belief that you are owed anything. Your friends don’t owe you their support, your spouse doesn’t own you their unwavering belief (even the healthiest of relationships have boundaries), and the world certainly doesn’t owe you anything. If you are someone who can’t make things happened for yourself, without feeling unlucky or left out, then you are going to have a hard time accomplishing anything. There is truthfully no more effective killer of dreams that a victimhood mentality.
All you have to do is continue making moves and moving forward.
Book I am currently reading:
Mistakes That Made Me a Millionaire: How to Transform Setbacks into Extraordinary Success by Kim Perell. In this book, Kim Perell shows how mistakes aren’t detours but stepping stones, offering a roadmap to bounce back with confidence and transform failures into opportunities.
READING TIP: Create a Reading List & Set a Goal
It is very important to choose the right book to kick-start your reading journey. I would recommend creating a list of books that you would like to read or things you are curious about. It could be books you always wanted to read or books that you need to read to instill new life skills.
And a good idea for motivation is to set a goal.
Thank you for reading and all your support.
I am excited to keep bringing you the new and old books, great insights, and lessons.
Until next week, stay curious and happy reading!
